Special People

Owners, Dave and Lynn McCabe have been booking Special Journeys for travelers since in 1988. They combine a flair for the undiscovered with an in-depth study of some of the most popular destinations across the globe. They are both especially interested in eco-travel.

Dave, a former Foreign Service officer, has a special passion for Australia. He has traveled, and lived in, more than 75 countries. He lived in Asia during much of his government life, but also lived in Greece, Italy, and the Middle East. He is a Certified Travel Associate (CTA). Although he spends most of his time doing "back office" matters, he is always available to give valuable information on places he has seen.

Lynn, a former teacher, has studied and traveled to Britain, Ireland, and mainland Europe for many years. She is a member of the Shamrock Club (Ireland specialist), is a ScotsMaster and a BritAgent. She is also a Royal Caribbean specialist, a Cunard specialist, a Uniworld River Cruise specialist, a Globus Family of Brands Specialist, a Hawaii specialist, an Austria Specialist, and a Destination Germany specialist and lived for several years in Bavaria. She is also a graduate of the College of Disney Knowledge and is a Certified Travel Associate (CTA). Both have traversed the globe together, finding out-of-the-way spots and secrets they'll share with you for your Special Journey.

Lisa Pollino is a senior agent who is a Sandals and Beaches specialist, a Bahamas specialist, and is not only a graduate of the Disney College of Knowledge but is also a graduate of the Disney Masters program. She knows everything there is to know about Disney and the Disney Cruise Line. She is also a Royal Caribbean specialist, a Princess Cruise specialist,  and a specialist in Hawaii and Bermuda.

Michelle Unkart, our manager, is a Sandals and Beaches specialist, a Princess Cruise specialist, a Carnival Cruise specialist, and a Royal Caribbean specialist. She has traveled often to the Islands and is very knowledgeable about many Caribbean destinations. She is also a graduate of the Disney College of Knowledge. Gerrye Johnston owned her own agency in Catonsville for 25 years. After selling it to care for her ailing husband, she eventually came to us. She brings a wealth of knowledge with her. She has traveled to Europe on many occasions and has also spent time in Israel. She is a graduate of the College of Disney Knowledge, and is a Honeymoon and Wedding Destination specialist, an Apple Vacations specialist, and a Virgin Islands specialist. Anna Lipka comes to us with 17 years of experience. She is native to the island of Trinidad and specializes in the Caribbean and in cruises. She has spent a lot of time in Britain and loves to sell it. She also specializes in France. She is a graduate of the College of Disney Knowledge and is a specialist in Princess Cruises. She is the mother of twins and, therefore, is also very knowledgeable about family vacations.

Betty Stanton has returned to us on several evenings, putting her love of travel before her busy life! She has traveled to many destinations of the world: Europe, Mexico, Costa Rica, and others. She is a graduate of the College of Disney Knowledge.

Tom (Mac) McElroy works as an independent agent.  He specializes in Globus vacations and in religious travel. He graduated from the College of Disney Knowledge and is an Australian specialist.
